The Reality on the Ground & Why We Chose This Data-Driven Approach

Access to clean, safe drinking water remains a daily struggle for families in Tubur Subcounty. Without protected water points nearby, mothers and children walk up to 4 kilometers under heavy heat to fetch water from open, unprotected ponds. Shockingly, these same water points are shared directly with grazing cattle and local livestock. Drinking from contaminated open ponds exposes whole villages to severe waterborne illnesses like typhoid, cholera, and dysentery.

Before launching a construction project, Rhema Development Foundation conducted a field assessment to map community water points accurately. By visiting households directly and measuring collection distances and health impacts, Rhema ensured that every dollar spent on drilling will go exactly where the need is greatest.

Current Progress

Current Status: Rhema Development Foundation completed the ground mapping and verified 10 high-priority borehole sites across Soroti District. We are now actively fundraising to turn these mapped coordinates into clean, running water.
